Protect Arizona State University from the Koch Network!
The Koch Network is investing in university programs across the country, and the Charles Koch Foundation has a history of using its university donations to buy influence over hiring decisions, curriculum, and research on campus.
Arizona State has already received around $8 million from the Charles Koch Foundation directly—and MILLIONS more of taxpayer dollars have been given to its Koch-funded Freedom Centers over the past three years.
Charles Koch himself admits that these university programs are critical to producing the ideas that support the Koch network’s anti-democratic political agenda, which often favors policies that uphold white supremacy and strip the public of our voting rights, access to healthcare, and regulations that protect workers and our environment. These investments also allow the Koch network to leverage universities as a recruiting ground to introduce young people to the “liberty movement” and integrate them into their “talent pipeline,” which is designed to build widespread support for, and adoption of, those anti-democratic policies at the state and federal levels.
