It will take our entire community to stop Koch influence at George Mason University.
George Mason University hosts three Koch-funded research institutes that are actively destroying our democracy. From leading the charge against Medicare for All and promoting inaction on climate change to training judges to issue longer prison sentences and overturn regulations protecting workers and the environment, these programs are harming our communities.
This online town hall will bring community members together with campus activists, state legislators, and national advocates to discuss the size and significance of the Koch presence at GMU. We will also be joined by Nancy MacLean, author of the award-winning book Democracy in Chains, who will discuss how the ideas of Mason Professor James Buchanan have been used to transform the Republican Party. Together we identify next steps to protect our public university from actors who wish to place private gain over the common good!
